The vacancies below are listed in descending order from most recently announced to oldest.  Each listing includes information about the vacancy, deadlines, application instructions, and a contact person.

Forest Products Lab

The Wisconsin Business Enterprise program is now taking bids on this site/route.  Please review the bid options and additional information for this site/route, and return your application via fax, US mail or email no later than the bid return date shown below.  Applications will be evaluated in order of the options listed (i.e. Option 1 applicants, then Options 2 applicants, etc.)  If you have further questions, please refer to the bid contact listed below.

This site consists of three (3) vending machines and a bill changer located at One Clifford Pinchot Drive (across from the UW Hospital), Madison, WI  53726.  Yearly total gross sales were approximately $25,000.  An individual operator will need to determine his/her own business expenses.

The best use of this site is to transition a new operator into the program.  This is a new approach to bringing new operators into the program, and will undoubtedly be a needed approach for continued training.  By providing an on-the-job training experience, a new blind operator gets to work and learn from an experienced operator.  this brings some added benefits to the interim mentor operator.  Mentors will not be responsible for inventory costs.  Additionally, training times and wage costs will have predetermined reimbursements.  Occupancy would not occur until a trainee is ready and assigned to the site.

There are three options under which you are invited to bid on this site:

Option 1 - As a mentor/training site.  A mentor/training site is earmarked for new operators, but requires a currently licensed operator to serve as a mentor.  Mentor/trainee pairs will be considered first for this vacancy.  If not suitable mentor/trainee pair can be assigned, applications for Option 2 will be considered next.

Option 2 - As a standalone site.  A standalone site is a permanent site that provides a fair minimum return.  Operators are required to surrender all their existing BEP entitlement sites before assignment to this site as a standalone.  If no suitable permanent assignment can be made, applications for Option 3 will be considered next.

Option 3 - As an interim site.  An interim site is a temporary saved for a future operator and to be re-bid at a future time.  The interim operator's assignment will end when either a mentor/trainee pair or a permanent operator can be assigned.
