Below are Wisconsin BEP's policies and practices regarding privacy of personal information.

MONITORING

The Wisconsin BEP is a business, and is therefore legally responsible for the behavior of its agents and employees on its tangible and virtual properties, including this web site.  To carry out these responsibilities, Wisconsin BEP and its ISP reserve the right to monitor any and all communications through or with our facilities, including the contents of e-mail.  You agree that Wisconsin-BEP.org is not considered a "secure communications medium" for the purposes of ECPA, and that no expectation of privacy is afforded.

POSTING IS PUBLICATION

You understand that by placing information (or directing it to be placed) on the Wisconsin BEP web site, that such information becomes available to all internet users and that the Wisconsin BEP has no foolproof way of limiting or restricting general access to such information or protecting such information from copyright infringement from others with the same access as you.  You assume total responsibility and risk for your use of the web site and the internet.  It is solely your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of all opinions, advice, services and other information, and the quality and merchantability of all merchandise directly or indirectly provided through this web site or on the internet generally.

The content of the Wisconsin-BEP.org web site is a publication under US law, and is protected by national and international agreements.  This protection is indicated by the copyright notice on the bottom of each page on the site.  Content posted to this web site becomes the property of the Wisconsin BEP, and may not be republished in any other format or medium without prior written permission.  Wisconsin BEP reserves the right to edit any content to comply with such legal requirements as may exist pertaining to web content.

INFORMATION COLLECTED

Wisconsin BEP may collect personal information from you for the purposes of positive identification, delivery of specific services, and compliance with federal and state regulations.  This information is generally kept confidential by the Wisconsin BEP.  We will not share or sell your personal information with or to any third party for any purpose other than those directed by state and federal regulation.

As a member of the Wisconsin BEP, your business information, including but not limited to business name, operators' names, business address, e-mail address, and business phone number; may be used in the public areas of the web site for the purpose of showcasing and advertising the program.  Where possible, steps will be taken to protect the privacy of members' outside activities.

Be aware that the Wisconsin BEP is a partnership between state and federal government and the BEP operators.  As a government program, the business information of BEP operators, such as business name, operators' names, business address, e-mail address, and business phone number may be requested through open records law.  Valid open records requests cannot be refused by the Wisconsin BEP or the government agencies it works with.

RESPECT PRIVACY OF OTHERS

You may not use this site to collect personal information of any kind.  Sharing or selling any personal information gained from the use of this site is also prohibited.

It is considered a breach of network etiquette to publish all or part of a private e-mail exchange without the prior permission of each participant in the exchange.  However, if the part of the exchange being published has already been published in another public forum, it is not necessary to regain permission from the authors of the original exchange.

You may not use these facilities to publish any material that is not your own original work unless prior written permission is granted by the originator and properly credited in the publication.  Please refrain from publishing any personal information about others that is not already in the public domain.  For example, "outing" is strongly discouraged, and may be considered a form of net abuse.
